With this book you will understand yourself better and start living a purposeful life. This book will encourage you to self reflect by answering guide questions that will help you assess your strengths, weaknesses, values and beliefs. Through these questions, you will start to form a clearer vision of a purposeful life.

This amazing inspirational book focuses on self-confidence, relationships, family, health, dreams and goal-setting, which also aims to guide you in defining your personal missions, talents as well as goals that will contribute to creating a meaningful life.

This is what you’ll expect from the book as directly stated by some of the featured writers:

Avdhessh Arya“Help was not available for me when I needed it most. I know how it feels when no one is there to help you in time of need, so I have written these articles to help you out of compassion, to make your life a little easier, richer and more meaningful.

In these articles, you can expect the so called difficult concepts of ‘Self Confidence’ and ‘Goal Setting’ explained in a simple and easy to understand format.

There’s no secret formula to self-confidence and goal setting. All you need is courage to keep things as they are-simple! Because keeping things simple is more difficult than making them appear difficult so you can avoid them altogether.”

Ronald Colunga – “We all have dreams. We all have certain things we want to achieve in life. However, most of us never do. In this book, I talk about dreams, how to follow them and things that you should do in order to follow them. I know  with my small contribution you will go out there and follow your dreams.”

Ria Rombaoa“The purposes that it will serve upon its completion are what made me decide to share a small part in this book. In exchange for what we have shared and written on amsdaily, we will be able to help a lot of kids. Words are powerful and can change anything and one pencil can change someone’s life.

I do not claim to be a good writer but the essays that I have contributed are collections of personal experiences that I have written and kept a long time ago. Hopefully one can learn a thing or two about life and how to accept and move on from those things that are inevitable.”

Elizabeth Scala“I was thrilled to be included in Alpha’s book, “The Best Inspirational Stories I Ever Read: Guide to a Purposeful Life”. I decided to jump at the opportunity because I am so passionate about holistic, healthy, and balanced living.

I believe that we all can live the happy, healthy, and purposeful life we choose. And sometimes all that is needed is a bit of inspiration and support. So through my articles, you can expect some real life examples, some practical tips and techniques, and some motivational resources to help them achieve that healthy and balanced lifestyle they are journeying towards. To me, health is not just about the destination. It is a way to nourish all aspects of ourselves to maintain our total well being.”

Kenton Sefcik“I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to write my part of this book because I had a chance to help a larger audience.

I wrote some hugely inspiration and motivational pieces that you will surely enjoy reading.  Not only that, but I gave some tried, tested and true methods to achieving what you truly want in your life.”

Stuart Young“I was really flattered when Alpha asked me to contribute first to her blog and then to this book. My guides are a follow on from my own book and are designed to inspire the reader to take a particular action step that day – to apply the guide throughout the day with the outcome of experiencing something out of the ordinary.

Each guide could become a catalyst for deeper change in the reader’s mindset and outlook on life. When I applied just one small exercise to my life nine years ago it radically changed my life in just a few short months.

Along with the other messages, exercises, strategies and thought processes in this book the reader will experience a cumulative effect and will find their life changes for the better.”

And finally, this is what Alpha Miguel-Sanford has to say about the book:

How the book, “The Best Inspirational Stories I Ever Read” came to life?

By Alpha Miguel-Sanford

Since I can remember I have always been the type of person who stashes away pages and pages, maybe at least a couple of books completely done since I was young. I wrote diaries, journals, poetry even a book about my life in the province (Camiling, Tarlac). There was a point when I thought I could be the next Anne Frank, the Filipino version of course. But unfortunately, none of them made into publication and most of them were corrupted when my very first computer crashed. There was an exception though: one of my poems was published by the International Library of Poetry.

That gave me the confidence that perhaps I do have the skill to write.

I know I love writing. Ask my parents – they’d tell you that I’d spend hours and hours on the computer or in my room writing my thoughts away when I was in high school. But writing is not just a matter of wanting to see my name on the front of the book but rather, a way for me to share ideas that I have learned or experienced and along the way, perhaps influence people to do the same.

When the idea of coming up with the book on inspiration/aspiration (after one of the tenets of A.M.S. Daily) I knew it will be an easy task because I love anything that has something to do with personal development, self-help and spirituality.

So, I asked our AMSDaily writers if they’d be interested to join me with this project and all of them – Avdhessh Arya, Ronald Colunga, Buenaflor Laoang-Rosete, Ria Rombaoa, Elizabeth Scala, Kenton Sefcik and Stuart Young, said “YES”.

With everybody’s commitment, the book, “The Best Inspirational Stories I Ever Read: Guide to a Purposeful Life” came to a fruition.

As we launched our book on July 30th, I know we will be fulfilling one of our goals in writing this book, which is to inspire people to live a purposeful life by reading through different inspirational stories that relate to the various aspects of our lives.

The book, “The Best Inspirational Stories I ever Read: Guide to a Purposeful Life”  also comes with its own purpose: for every book that is sold, we will be donating 10 pencils to the Black Pencil Project co-founded by Mom Corpuz, the book cover designer who, when asked about his service fee his answer was “pay it forward, Alpha!”

As July 30th comes closer I want you to think through these 10 questions:

1. How are you living your life on a day-to-day basis? Are you struggling to maintain happiness?

 2. When you wake up in the morning, do you drag your feet to get off the bed or are you enthusiastic to live another day?

 3. What are your greatest passions? How do you spend your free time?

 4. What has been your best lesson? What were your failures?

 5. Do you know yourself? Do you know your talents? How about your weaknesses? And strengths?

 6. What and who makes you smile?

 7. Who inspires you the most?

 8. What do people often ask you for help in?

 9. What do you want to do if you were given the time and money?

 10. What kind of things you would like to hear at your eulogy? What do you expect to hear from the people who will be at your death bed?

On behalf of the AMSDaily’s writers, I invite you all to please save the date: July 30, 2012.

Come back here at http://amsdaily.net for the announcement and if you want exclusive offers that will go along with the book, subscribe NOW (it’s the button to your right)!

Next Friday, I will be writing about a few other things that you might expect from the book.

You are Awesome!

You are awesome!

Take what I just said very well. In case you tried to dismiss it I want you to read it again and feel each word:

You are AWESOME!

Yes, YOU are!

Why are you awesome? Here are a few reasons why I truly believe you are:

1. You are with me as you are reading this post. This means you can tune things out that are unnecessary at the moment. You value each moment as it comes. That says something ‘big’!

2. You know how to listen. Yes! Leaders do know how to listen. We have talked about that.

3. You share your blessings. You understand that when you give, you know that the universe will give you more.

4. You care and you love the people around you and also the planet.

5. You start the morning with a smile.

6. You remain positive despite many adversaries.

7. You lead conscientiously.

8. You know your priorities and how you are shaping your future.

9. You have a sense of spirituality.

10. You value success and you commit to making yourself better everyday.

Good for you! Being awesome is uncommon – and you must be proud of who you are!

Share your awesomeness! Send this to at least one person whom you think is also AWESOME!

Secrets of the Millionaire Mind

You can choose to think in ways that will support you in your happiness and success instead of ways that don’t. – by T. Harv Eker

By  Alpha Miguel-Sanford

A few months ago my former classmate Israel D. Basilio told me in an email that there are only two books that he has really read from the beginning to end, and that I must read them as well.  One of the books he highly recommended is the book written by T. Harv Eker’s Secrets of the Millionaire Mind. According to him it was really a life-changing book and “perhaps you may share it with your readers”.

Intrigued as I usually am, I put a hold through the online public library system on T. Harv Eker’s book and in a few days I was able to read it all! A few months have passed and I wanted to reread it, so instead of hopping back to the library I decided to go to the local bookstore and get myself a copy of it! Surprisingly, on the very first page is the signature of T. Harv Eker (live signature and not stamped version!), which made me want to do the next step, which is to share with you the wealth files of this book!

As the title implies, these wealth files are the secrets why millionaires are who they are, millionaires – and I would like to share them with you:

Wealth File #1: Rich people believe, “I create my life.” Poor people believe “Life happens to me.”

Wealth File #2: Rich people play the money game to win. Poor people play the money game to not lose.

Wealth File #3: Rich people are committed to being rich. People want to be rich.

Wealth File #4: Rich people think big. Poor people think small.

Wealth File #5: Rich people focus on opportunities. Poor people focus on obstacles.

Wealth File #6: Rich people admire other rich and succesful people. Poor people resent rich and successful people.

Wealth File #7: Rich people associate with positive, successful people. Poor people associate with negative or unsuccessful people.

Wealth File #8: Rich people are willing to promote themselves and their value. Poor people think negatively about selling and promotion.

Wealth File #9: Rich people are bigger than their problem. Poor people are smaller than their problems.

Wealth File #10: Rich people are excellent receivers. Poor people are poor receivers.

Wealth File #11: Rich people choose to get paid based on results. Poor people choose to get paid based on time.

Wealth File #12: Rich people think “both.” Poor people think “either/or.”

Wealth File #13: Rich people focus on their net worth. Poor people focus on their working income.

Wealth File #14: Rich people manage their money well. Poor people mismanage their money well.

Wealth File #15: Rich people have their money work hard for them. Poor people work hard for their money.

Wealth File #16: Rich people act in spite of fear. Poor people let fear stop them.

Wealth File #17: Rich people constantly learn and grow. Poor people think they already know.

To read each of these files and understand them fully, you may want to consider grabbing a copy of the book either in your library or through the bookstore. Also, it is important to completely follow T. Harv Eker’s definition of the rich and the poor people when reading these words.

As you finish this post, I would like to share with you how T. Harv Eker ends his wealth file page and he writes his wealth declaration (and I would like to do as well):

“Touch your head and say….I have a millionaire mind!”

And YOU do!

What Beyonce Said: Take Time to Know Yourself

And this is what Beyonce Knowles said that inspired me: (read each line, and feel the words as they go through your head…it is liberating!)

“Knowing who you are is the greatest wisdom a human being can possess. Know your goals, what you  love, your morals, your needs, your standards, what you will not tolerate and what you are willing to die for. It defines who you are. I have learned not to obsess over being number one all the times. Sometimes not being number one gives you the incentive and the courage to fight harder; it is motivating. Have patience. Have grace. Be secure enough in yourself to base success on personal growth.

Take at least twenty minutes every day to be still and quiet. Time to sit in complete silence. Think. Reflect. Dissect your thoughts and feelings. Relive any mistakes from the day before. Decide how to be smarter and tougher, how to be more committed and considerate of others and more sensitive and aware of your surroundings. Choose something you learned that will make you a better person.

Choose to be happy and positive. Live like the blessed human you are.

Define you.

Knowing who you are allows you to create your own beautiful legacy.”

- from Katie Couric’s Lessons from Extraordinary Lives
